Carroll's first book, Ode to Joy (2013), was inspired by his buddy Jimmy Jack's (USAGEM and Hall of Fame) Thank God for the AMVETS.
"It was a Brazilian lady, granddaughter of the co-founder of Clube de Regatas do Flamengo who arranged my study with Don Fco. Alcaraz.
Her name was Helena Braga Pereira da Cunha,
from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
My older sister's name was Helen, after my dad's mom: I was named after his dad.
My family came from Burgundy, France in 1740, where they were known as the Burgunds".
Carroll illustrated the custom 12-month calendar for the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. 75,000 calendars were mailed as loyalty gifts to the organization's top benefactors.
